Ingredients

1 (2 ¼ tsp) package instant dry yeast
3¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water (lukewarm)
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Stir the yeast into the flour.

Stir the water, olive oil, sugar, and salt into the flour mixture. Knead the dough by hand for 5 to 7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover, let rise in a warm area for 30 to 40 minutes or until doubled. Punch the dough down and divide into 2 portions. Dough can be frozen at this point.

Preheat oven to 450°F.

Lightly flour or oil a work surface and stretch or roll the dough into the desired pizza shape. Gently fold the edges under to form a crust. Allow the dough to rest for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Poke the dough with a fork and lightly brush with olive oil.

Top the pizza with toppings as desired and bake for 11 to 14 minutes. Cool for 3 to 5 minutes before cutting.
